Does ‘Kwatta’ mean something?
Yes.
There is a saying in the Netherlands that says:
“Alle ogen zijn gericht op Kwatta.”
translated in English “All eyes are aimed at Kwatta“.This expresion comes from advertising. The Kwatta factory from Breda in the Netherlands made chocolate with cocoa from a Surinam cocoa plantation. On the chocolatbars from Kwatta you found soldiers, which were used to collect for presents. In the first world-war these kwatta-bars were favourite by our Dutch soldiers. So they say the expresion “Alle ogen zijn gericht op Kwatta” was created in the barracks. After some time the factory Kwatta used the expresion in their advertising.
I used the name Kwatta as login name by postcrossing. After all, with this addiction, our eyes are aimed on the letter box!  Also that’s only logical to use the name Kwatta for this blog.
